As a skincare aficionado, I keep looking for new brands and interesting ingredients. It is quite hard as the Indian cosmetics market is ever-expanding.
Often, new brands approach me. At this stage of my blogging journey, I do not collaborate with every brand that comes my way. Rather, I do some research myself before nodding my head.
I have recently encountered Shruum, an emerging Indian skincare brand. Shruum is India’s First Multi-Mushroom Based Skincare Brand. I have never used mushroom-based cosmetics; hence, I was naturally quite driven by the brand motto.
As of now, Shruum has launched 4 products i.e. Shrrum 360 Degree Facial Cleanser, Shrrum 360 Degree Facial Serum, Shrrum 360 Degree Facial Moisturiser, and Shrrum 360 Degree Under Eye Cream.
Well! 360 degree denotes the entire span of 24 hours where Shruum skincare products can cover your entire skincare routine.
But, is the brand good enough to be recommended? What are the benefits of mushrooms for the skin? What about the other ingredients? Are the products good for sensitive skin?
I have picked up 2 Shruum skincare products to answer all these questions. In these 12 days, I have incorporated their Facial Cleanser and the Serum into my skincare regime. Keep on reading to learn about my experience.

Ingredient Analysis of Shruum 360 Degree Facial Cleanser
This 360 Degree Facial Cleanser has only 20 ingredients. The ingredient list looks pretty crisp and on point. But, are the ingredients safe and effective? Let’s find out.
1. Aqua
Water acts as the base for the cleanser
2. Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate
A mild surfactant or cleansing agent that is widely used in personal care products.
3. Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate
Another mild cleansing agent that is safe and quite effective
4. Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate
This bio-degradable mild surfactant is a great alternative to sulfate-based formulations.
5. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate
A mild cleansing agent that is gentle on the skin and can maintain the pH balance of the skin barrier.
6. Cetyl Alcohol
This widely used ingredient functions both as a thickening agent and binder in cosmetic formulations.
7. Glycol Stearate
The component works both as an emulsifier and a thickening agent. It is responsible for providing a creamy texture to cosmetics. This ingredient also helps to stabilize formulation and enhances spreading ability.
8. Glycerin
A natural humectant that retails moisture into the skin.
9. Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi Mushroom) Extract & Inonotus Obliquus (Chaga Mushroom) Extract & Cordyceps Sinensis (Caterpillar fungus) Extract
Here goes the deep research done by the brand owner Nikita Kathuria. This mushroom-trio helps to keep the skin hydrated and plumpy. It also helps to keep all the signs of ageing away. Caterpillar fungus is a great anti-oxidant as well.
10. Psoralea Corylifolia (Bakuchi) seed extract
This potent extract is loaded with benefits like acne control, UV protection, and even skin tone.
11. Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) extract
It is also known as a skin-lightening herb. Gotu Kol is rich in flavonoids, centelloids, and tannins that help to decrease Melanin production which in turn helps to lighten the skin tone.
12. Avena Sativa (Oat Kernel) Flour
Oat flour is quite beneficial to keep the skin hydrated, clean, and smooth.

Well! I must say that the brand has done a brilliant job in formulating this product. The ingredients are top-notch and well-researched. People often complain that mild cleansers are not quite effective. But, that’s not the case here.
There are multiple cleansing agents have been used here to make this a gentle yet effective daily cleanser. I shall happily give the ingredients a rating of 5 out of 5.
My Experience with Shruum 360° Facial Cleanser
My daily skincare regime is quite simple and consists of step-by-step CTM. I follow a double cleansing method religiously where the first step is to remove makeup with Micellar Water followed by a mild cleanser.
In these 12 days, I have used this cleanser twice a day without any fail. The face wash has a gentle texture that spreads like a dream on wet skin.
Just one pump is enough to cover the entire face & neck area. This cleanser does not have any specific fragrance which is great for people with Hyperosmia.
The lather is not much due to the presence of mild surfactants. But, the cleaning power is quite solid. It truly takes away all the remaining dirt & pollutants from the layers of the skin.
Often, face washes make skin dry post-wash off. But, this is not the case here. The skin feels hydrated and nourished at the same time.
Is Shruum 360° Facial Cleanser Suitable for Sensitive Skin?
I have super dry and sensitive skin. And, this cleanser has suited my skin type like a dream. The ingredients are not comedogenic. Hence, it is not only suitable for sensitive skin types but can also prove to be great for acne-prone skin.
So, Do I Recommend this Facial Cleanser from the House of Shruum?
Well! No matter what your skin type is, this facial cleaner deserves a place on your shelf. Next time, when you run out of your regular face wash, give Shruum 360° Facial Cleanser a go. You won’t regret it.

According to Shruum, this is a powerful blend of beauty trends, cosmeceutical sciences and time-tested ingredients e.g. Mushroom extracts, Probiotic Ferments, Olive Squalane, Collagen Peptides, Niacinamide, Ceramide boosters, etc. It also contains Time-tested Ayurvedic and Homeopathy ingredients like Bakuchi, Gotu Kola, Calendula, and Arnica.
Ingredient Analysis of Shruum 360 Degree Facial Serum
1. Aqua
Water acts as the base of the serum.
2. Lactobacillus/Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi Mushroom) Extract/Lentinus Edodes (Shiitake Mushroom) Extract Ferment Filtrate
As mentioned above, mushrooms are potent enough to hydrate and soothe our skin. Moreover, the fermentation process helps to break down these mushrooms into more bioavailable forms that can be extremely beneficial for the skin.
This ferment filtrate helps in regeneration and repair at the deep cellular level.
3. Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) extract

4. Niacinamide
One of the most trending active ingredients in recent times that has multiple benefits like tackling acne issues, reducing signs of ageing, etc. Well! You must have at least one Niacinamide-rich product in your skincare regime.

From soothing sunburns to reducing puffiness, castor oil does everything. It is one such ingredient that you should not miss in your skincare.
23. Xylitylglucoside (and) Anhydroxylitol (and) Xylitol
This combo prevents moisture loss and helps to protect the skin barrier.

Functions both as an emollient and humectant.

26. Sodium Levulinate
This is the salt of Levulinic acid that acts as a preservative, antimicrobial, and skin condition agent. I must say that the brand has done a brilliant job in choosing the preservative.
27. Sodium Anisate
Guess what! This is a 100% natural preservative which is derived from anise and fennel. A gentle preservative that can protect the product without altering its colour and does not disrupt the pH.
I am truly amazed.
28. Sunset Yellow CI No.15985
An FDA-approved cosmetic colourant which looks a bit orangish.
Overall, the brand has done an excellent job in formulating this serum. Indeed, they have worked hard to build this active-rich product. Specially, the choice of preservative has amazed me. I will be happy to provide a rating of 5 out of 5 for the formulation solely.
My Experience with Shruum 360° Facial Serum
As I said earlier, I follow quite a simple CTM routine. Right after washing my face, I apply a toner. Which is followed by either a facial oil or a simple active-rich moisturizer.
Well! During the past 12 days, I replaced my facial oil with this serum. I just take 4 pumps to cover my face & neck and light-handedly massage the application area. And, that’s all!
It feels quite soft and hydrating on the skin. However, serums are best to be applied at night. But, this serum is so light that can easily be blended with your sunscreen.
You can instantly feel the nourishment as your skin starts feeling soothing. Just like their face cleanser, the serum also does not have any specific fragrance.
So, Do I Like this Shruum 360 Degree Facial Serum?
Of course! The serum is loaded with herbs and actives that are quite potent to improve the overall health of the skin. I love how the brand has developed a brilliant formulation that is suitable for all skin types including the one with acne-prone & sensitive skin types.
Don’t worry about the added sunset colour as it is FDA-approved and safe for the skin. I am simply simping for the serum.
Do I Recommend Shruum Skincare Products?
From ingredients to benefits, both the cleanser and the serum are outstanding. I can proudly say that these Make in India cosmetics are one of the best harmful chemical-free skincare products out there.
You do not need tons of these products to enjoy the benefits. A small amount goes a long way.
As a whole, I am in love with the brand and its products. I just wish that they come up with more new products.
