Ingredient Analysis of Lakme Blush and Glow Kiwi Crush Gel Face Wash

Lakme Kiwi Gel Face Wash Ingredients

Well! Lakme is a commercial brand and thus, you would find a number of chemicals in the ingredient list which are not eco-friendly. Honestly, there is no harm in admitting the fact that most of the ingredients are not appealing at all. Here goes a detailed analysis of all the components.

1. Aqua or Water

It forms the base for the face wash.

2. Glycerine

A safe humectant that retains moisture onto the skin surface.

3. Sodium Laureth Sulfate

A heavily used surfactant in industries. It is also moderately safe (generally works great as a floor cleaner at factories).

4. Cocamidopropyl Betaine

It is a moderately hazardous surfactant that is widely used in cosmetics.

5. Acrylates Copolymer

A moderataely hazardous microplastic which has been used in cosmetics as a fixative and adhesive agent.

6. Sodium Chloride

Sodium Chloride is a safe ingredient which is used in cosmetic to increase the thickness of the watery part of the formulation.

7. Fragrance

I wonder why Lakme didn’t want to disclose the name of the fragrance. I can only hope that it is not Phthalates.

8. Micro Crystalline Wax

It is used as a binder and also as a viscosity increasing agent. Because of the fine crystals, it is better than the Paraffin Wax.

9. Sodium Hydroxide

This moderately safe ingredient is used mainly to hold the pH value of the cosmetic.

10. Menthol

A safe denaturant or flavouring agent.

11. DMDM Hydantoin

It is a dangerous Formaldehyde releaser which is basically used as an antimicrobial agent.

12. Citric Acid

Citric Acid is actually a multipurpose chelating agent.

13. Kiwi Fruit Extract

Kiwi is full of Vitamin C and several Polyphenols. The fruit extract helps skin to defend airborne pollutants.

14. Chondrus Crispus Powder

It is a seaweed extract which helps to control the viscosity in a formulation. It is full of Vitamins and minerals.

15. Agar

When mixed with Seaweed, it works as a great binder.

16. Butylene Glycol

It is a safe skin conditioning agent which also works as fragrance ingredient.

17. Phenoxyethanol

A moderately safe preservative which is widely used in cosmetics.

18. Caprylyl Glycol

It is a safe skin conditioning and hair conditioning agent.

19. Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate

A moderately hazardous preservative which should not be used in products tht would be inhaled.

20. CI 47005, CI 77499, CI 42090

These are moderately safe colourants used in cosmetics namely Yellow 10, Iron Blue, and Brilliant Blue.

21. Limonene

It is a moderately safe fragrant component that is widely used in cosmetics.

The components are mostly hazardous. Seriously Lakme! The time has come to formulate such products that maintains a balance in our ecosystem. As a brand, it is time for Lakme to think more about our marine life. As of now, I cannot give the ingredients 2.5 out of 5.

Directions to Apply Lakme Kiwi Face Wash

Packaging

Lakme Blush and Glow Kiwi Crush Gel Face Wash Packaging

Lakme has not done any extraordinary job here. The packaging is pretty basic and simple. The entire body is made is plastic. The flip cap closes properly. It is available in two sizes. The smallest tube is quite travel-friendly.

Texture and Aroma

Lakme Kiwi Face Wash Texture

It is quite a thick gel. The black Kiwi seeds can be found in the form of beads in the face wash.

Well! The aroma is fresh but quite synthetic. There is nothing like Kiwi in it. Rather, the aroma is more on the citrusy side.

My Experience with Lakme Blush and Glow Kiwi Crush Gel Face Wash

My Experience with Lakme Kiwi Gel Face Wash

In all these weeks, I have replaced my face wash with this Lakme Kiwi gel face wash. The gel texture is easy to apply and the beads exfoliate quite well.

After wash off, my skin feels clean indeed but it does not feel hydrated. HoAnestly, the splashes of Kiwi and Red Algae are not enough to make my skin feel comfortable.

Q. Does it Irritate Skin?

No, it does not! I have never felt itchiness or irritations on my skin after applying this face wash.

Q. Is Moisturizer Must Afterwards?

I believe, this face wash is ideal for combination skin people. Lakme Kiwi Face Wash neither hydrates the skin nor it moisturizes. So, it is must to follow up with a moisturizer afterwards.

Pros of Lakme Blush and Glow Kiwi Crush Gel Face Wash

  • Budget friendly
  • Kiwi beads are present
  • The goodness of Kiwi and Red Algae species
  • Gel texture which is easy to spread and apply
  • Packaging is easy to carry around

Cons of Lakme Blush and Glow Kiwi Crush Gel Face Wash

  • SLS and other harmful components like DMDM Hydantoin re present
  • Synthetic fragrance
  • Micro Crystalline Wax is harmful for marine ecosystem.

My Take on Lakme Blush and Glow Kiwi Crush Gel Face Wash

Just Another Lakme Blush and Glow Face Wash

Well! If your face wash is running short and you are also bored with it, then you can give it a try. But otherwise, there is nothing extraordinary or salient in this face wash.
