15 Days with Foxtale Skincare Products: Do I Recommend the Brand?

In the past two weeks, I was busy testing 6 foxtale skincare products. How are the products? Are the ingredients safe? Is the brand recommendable? Well! Discover all the answers here.

Posted on | Last Updated

Indian cosmetics market is ever-expanding. Almost everyday, new brands pop up. As a skincare enthusiast, I always try to keep a tab with these emerging brands. At least, I try to take a look at their ingredients page. But still, I cannot reach to most of those.

Foxtale Skincare Products Review with Ingredient Analysis

Lately, I came in contact with such an emerging brand. The brand is popular as Foxtale. Well! As of now, Foxtale has launched a bunch of products like foxtale moisturizer, foxtale cleanser, foxtale hyaluronic acid serum, foxtale vitamin c serum, etc.

Basically, from day time to night time, foxtale products can cover your entire skincare regime. But, is the brand good enough to be recommended? What about the ingredients? Are the products good for sensitive skin?

To answer all these questions, I have picked up 6 foxtale skincare products. In the last two weeks, I have tried to adopt a new skincare regime with these. Let’s check out how successful the venture was.

1. Foxtale Coverup Mattifying Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

Ideal for Normal to Oily Skin

Basic Information

Price: INR 595 for 50ml

In a time when summer has already hit us pretty badly, a sunscreen with SPF 50+ was much needed. This foxtale sunscreen is rich in Niacinamide, Pro Vitamin B5, and Vitamin E.

I used it just like any regular sunscreen. As there were two sunscreens on my testing table, so I gave a week to each product.

Everyday for a week straight, I cleansed my face with foxtale cleanser, applied a PHA based toner, dabbed foxtale moisturizer lightly, and sealed everything with this sunscreen.

Foxtale Coverup Mattifying Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

The sunscreen is sheen white in colour. It is quite thick but very easy to blend. As there is no physical sunscreen agent (e.g. Zinc, Titanium Di Oxide) present here, hence there was no white cast at all.

There are sunscreens that make you sweat like a horse. Surprisingly, I did not feel sweaty at all post application. In fact, the ‘touch-n-feel-nice’ thing stayed for more than 6 hours.

The sunscreen has a very subtle fragrance that almost feels non-existent. So, it is definitely great for people like me who have a sensitive nose and is not a fan of fragrant cosmetics.

Is It Suitable for Sensitive Skin?

Well! I have quite a sensitive skin due to years of topical steroid application, that gets irritated with any anomaly whatsoever. So, patch test is a must for me. Trust me, this matte sunscreen is suitable for all types of skin. It did not cause any irritation.

Overall, the formulation is mind-boggling. Honestly, I did not expect it to be this good. All the components are placed as per necessity.

So, Do I Recommend this Mattifying Sunscreen?

Of course! If you are someone with an oily, acne prone, and sensitive skin, just go for it. In comparison to the ingredients provided, the formulation, and the price at which it is offered, foxtale mattifying sunscreen is a must-have.

2. Foxtale Coverup Dewy Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

Ideal for Normal to Dry Skin

Basic Information

Price: INR 595 for 50ml

Well! I used this dewy sunscreen everyday straight in the second week just like I did with the matte one.

The UV-protective sunscreen is absolutely white in colour. The subtle fragrance is similar to that of the matte sunscreen. But, the fragrance did not bother me.

Foxtale Coverup Dewy Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

As there are no physical sunscreen agent present here, no white cast can be seen. The sunscreen is composed of a number of ingredients. Some of the ingredients are similar to that of the matte sunscreen. Let’s take a look.

Foxtale Dewy Sunscreen Review

So, Do I Recommend This Dewy Sunscreen from Foxtale?

Well! In spite of the fact that it contains fragrance and I have super sensitive-dry skin, I did not feel any eruption or irritation or purging. The formulation is perfect for dry skin people including the people with sensitive skin textures.

The sunscreen feels quite nice on the skin. I cannot tell anything about the tanning prevention though. But, as a sunscreen, it is quite effective.

3. Foxtale Face Wash: The Daily Duet Hydrating Cleanser

Ideal for All Skin Types

Basic Information

Price: INR 349 for 100ml

In the last two weeks, I have used this mild cleanser twice every day and there has not been an exception.

It does not create much lather but still provides a squeaky clean skin that does not feel stretchy or dry. I can feel the hydration.

Foxtale Daily Duet Hydrating Cleanser

The packaging is brilliant; quite minimal yet realistic. It comes in a plastic container with a pump to dispense the product. There is a small cap as well to prevent the product from spillage while travelling. The small addition is brilliant.

The sulphate and paraben free gentle formulation has been made for all skin types. It can also be used to clean up non-waterproof makeup. Just 1 pump is enough for the entire face.

The hero ingredients are Sodium Hyaluronate and Red Algae Extract, here. But, what about the other ingredients? Are those safe? Let’s take a glance.

Ingredient Analysis of Foxtale Face Wash

  • Aqua (water)
  • Sodium Cocoamphoacetate (mild yet effective surfactant that does not create much lather)

Due to presence of a number of mild surfactants, foxtale cleanser passes all the criteria of a gentle daily hydrating face wash.

Well! In spite of the presence of fragrance agent (which is not much desirable), there is barely any smell that can be felt.

I could not trace the fragrance neither during cleansing nor post wash off.

Foxtale Face Wash Review

So, Do I Recommend Foxtale Hydrating Cleanser?

Of course, I do. I am surprised to find the well-curated components altogether. It is a sulphate free, paraben free, and pH balanced (between the range of 6 and 6.5) face wash that is perfect for all skin types.

This foxtale ceramide moisturizer has a smooth texture that is pretty easy to blend. Try to use it right after a toner to lock the hydration.

Foxtale Moisturizer with Plant-Based Ceramides

The hydration stays in tact at least for 4-5 hours which is brilliant. As a day cream, this is quite good.

The cream is white in colour and quite light-weight in texture. Just like the previous products, it has a subtle fragrance which barely stays there after blending.

Foxtale Comfort Zone Rich Moisture Cream Review

So, Do I Recommend Foxtale Comfort Zone Moisturizer?

This is also an affordable rich moisturizing cream that can be used as a night cream too. Give it a go.

6. Foxtale Vitamin C Serum

Ideal for All Skin Types

Basic Information

Price: INR 399/INR 595 for 15ml/30ml

Vitamin C serum is something that I feel must be formulated and applied cautiously. Vitamin C as an Active is quite risky especially for a beginner. If the concentration of L Ascorbic Acid is more than 0.5%, it might cause skin issues which usually takes several weeks to get healed.

Foxtale Vitamin C Serum

And, more importantly, Vitamin C Serum was not part of my skincare regime so I was a bit skeptical about it. As a beginner, I decided to use it twice a week along with my night time routine.

In the last two weeks, I have used foxtail vitamin c serum at least 4 times. I applied it right after toner and just before the moisturizer.

Well! It definitely worked for me. I have not felt any irritation or skin purging issues as of now.

The serum is white in colour and a bit thick in texture. The fragrance is just like the other products. I love the bright pump packaging and the small cap to prevent spillage.

The formulation is simple and only a handful number of ingredients has been used here. Let’s take a look.

Ingredients Analysis of Foxtale Vitamin C Serum

  • Aqua (water)
  • L Ascorbic Acid (an unstable derivative of Vitamin C)
  • Dicaprylyl Carbonate (colourless skin conditioning agent)
  • C15-19 Alkane (synthetic solvent that is highly stable)
  • Octyldodecanol (and) Octyldodecyl Xyloside (and) PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate (a popular emulsifier)
  • Propylene Glycol (thickener and emulsifier)
  • Polyacrylate 13 (and) Polyisobutene (and) Polysorbate 20 (thickener and stabilizer)
  • Tocopherol (pure Vitamin E that is an excellent natural antioxidant)
  • Ethylhexylglycerine (and) Phenoxyethanol (liquid cosmetic preservative)
  • Sodium Phytate (a chelating agent that is often used as a great replacement to Disodium EDTA and Tetrasodium EDTA)
  • Fragrance (not much desirable)

So, Do I Recommend Foxtale Vitamin C Serum Review?

Umm, honestly, the formulation could have been better. Instead of the unstable form of Vitamin C, a stable form e.g. Ethyl Ascorbic Acid could have been used.

Foxtale Brightening Vitamin C Serum Review

Moreover, it is mandatory to mention the percentage of active Vitamin C used. And, last but not the least is the addition of fragrance which is absolutely unnecessary in a serum. It could have been easily eliminated.

But, keeping in note that it is meant for all skin types, affordable price range, availability of trial size (15ml), and also because it did not cause me any irritation, you can give it a try.

Final Words: What Do I Feel about Foxtale Products as a Whole?

  • Affordable
  • pH balanced f0rmulation
  • Cruelty free and Vegan products
  • All the products have almost similar subtle fragrance which is not bothering to even the nosey people
  • Well-formulated and well-researched products made keeping in mind Indian skin textures
  • Vibrant and travel friendly packaging can easily entice anyone
  • Each product serves the purpose pretty well
  • Products where allergen free fragrance has been used, those are suitable for sensitive and acne prone skin

As a whole, the brand is going to stay in the market for sure. The products are quite good. Beginners can easily use these skincare products as part of their day/night time regime.
