The day you get married is one of the most important days of your life; and it goes without saying that there is an enormous amount of preparation: the venue, the guest list, and of course, the dress.
Extending beyond that, though, in order to pull off your dream look and to truly experience the bridal feel, you need to not only look beautiful, but you need to feel beautiful too.
This is harder than many brides imagine, especially when they compare themselves to bridal models.
Of course, feeling like a goddess on your wedding day doesn’t have to be a chore, and with some simple tips, you can get that feeling with ease!
A core part of your wedding day is going to be the photos.
Thus, you will want to ensure that the surrounding environment for your wedding is stunning.
Which is why it is so crucial to look into wedding venues that enhance your own look and wedding theme on the big day.
If you want to have a classical wedding, then try to book a venue like an old-fashioned hotel, a country venue, or even a castle.
If you want a more modern option, why not try a French or English garden?
The minimalist features and clean cut lines can help to enhance any contemporary wedding dresses and décor without being too flashy or throwing the theme off.
It is a ritual that supermodels and actresses have sworn by for centuries; and it is a good foundation for glowing skin.
Drink water! It can be flavored, it can be iced, but the most important aspect of it is that you drink as much of it as you can to help your skin glow.
Ideally, the average person should be drinking eight glasses of water each day, but if you have sensitive skin, in the run-up to your wedding, you should aim to consume as much as you can.
Also, in relation to skin care for your wedding, it can be worth reducing the sugars in your diet (as these can lead to inflammation around the eyes, causing bags or puffiness) and adding more vegetables and protein.
Of course, before any dietary change, you should talk to your doctor or a dermatologist, especially if you have underlying health issues or a skin disorder, like psoriasis.
One process you simply have to go through when prepping for your wedding is to try out different makeup artists and hairstylists.
Why? The first makeup artist you go to may not gel with you, and the hairstylist may pull on your hair too hard, or not listen to what you want.
Sampling different makeup professionals and hairdressers will help you get an idea of what looks good on you, which styles suit your dress, and, of course, which ones listen to what you want and respects you.
The best part is that on your wedding day, many makeup artists and hairstylists will come to your home or the hotel, giving you the complete bridal experience.
So, there is no rushing around or additional stress.
This is more common in younger brides who may be caving ini to pressure from relatives, but this is your wedding, and whatever you want to wear or how you want to have your hair should be paramount.
For example, if you are a lady who loves black and wears it every day, it would stand to reason that you should have a black wedding dress, even if this is not the norm.
For you to feel gorgeous and comfortable on your wedding day, you need to truly embrace your own personality and explore what makes you feel beautiful.
Don’t allow anyone to talk you into shoes, dresses, or even veils that you don’t want, as, a few years down the line from your wedding, you will likely regret not sticking to your guns.
And, choosing the clothes, venue, or even the bridesmaids that you wanted.
In a similar vein, embrace your bridesmaids. Do they all have to wear the exact same dress?
Or, can one of them who may feel a bit insecure about herself wear a dress in the same color as the others, rather than a matching style?
The age of the internet has enabled brides to buy dresses from all over the world for minimal costs.
However, this may not be the best way to help you feel beautiful on your big day.
Why? Well, in simple terms, the dress you order from China may not fit properly and may cause you to feel bad about how you look and your body shape, thus ruining the magical experience of trying on your wedding dress for the first time.
It is true that buying a wedding dress from a shop can lead to a lot of trips to find the perfect fit, which can leave the bride (and bridesmaids) feeling fatigued.
But, one advantage is that the assistants in the shops can help you find a piece that will match what you want, highlight your best features, and will fit you perfectly.
They will also help you find the accessories that will enhance the dress and make you feel stunning.
So, if you can, aim to try on your wedding dress in person before you buy it.
If you have to order online, try to make sure that the dress you get is measured to fit you, rather than relying on potentially unreliable international sizing guides.
The same rule goes for your bridesmaids dresses.
Let them try on the dresses in person to prevent any last-minute alterations, which can be costly and time-consuming.
Remember, on your wedding day, you should feel like a princess or a queen.
Anything less is just not acceptable, and, by ticking all the boxes above, you can hit that goal with ease.
Congratulations on your engagement and remember, you deserve to feel gorgeous on your big day!
